A cross between a Currant and a Gooseberry, Jostaberry are hardy to -40°F! The large black berries are delicious and loaded with vitamin C. The plump firm berries can be great for fresh eating or make wonderful jams and jellies. Easy to grow and partially self-fruitful, shrubs grow to 3 to 5 feet tall and are resistant to many pests and diseases that can plague regular Currants and Gooseberries. Adaptable to most soils and need little to no maintenance other than occasional annual pruning. Planting multiple plants benefits potential yield. Zones 3-8. 2 yr. old bare root plants.
