Seed Corn, Goliath Silo Hybrid
#S09908
Our only hybrid silo corn is almost as tall as open-pollinated Goliath, but is a little earlier and provides a much greater grain yield. Grows 12 to 14 ft. high, about a foot shorter than open-pollinated Goliath. However, Hybrid Goliath matures about five days earlier and yields around 127 to 175 bushels of grain per acre - nearly twice the yield of open-pollinated Goliath. While open-pollinated Goliath is a white corn, Hybrid Goliath is a yellow type with excellent dry-down and picker ratings, larger ears and a reduced susceptibility to lodging. More versatile, withstanding plantings up to a plant population of 26,000. A full bag contains 65-75M kernels and weighs about 50 lb. A medium late variety. Seed is untreated.
