Grown commercially for cooking oil, bird food, human food and an excellent poultry and rabbit food. Grows 5 feet tall or more with large disc-shaped flower heads. Mature seeds can be shelled and eaten. Sow in rows same as corn at 3 to 5 lbs. per acre or 1/4 lb. per 500 to 800 feet of row. 32 lbs per bushel.
