An improved pinkeye purplehull-type pea developed at the University of Georgia Agricultural Experiment Station in 1975. Excellent fresh or dried. At the green shell stage, pods are purple and average 6¼ to 7 in. long with peas that are green with a light red eye. Dry peas are both smooth and wrinkled with a dark red/maroon eye. Upright, compact plants grow to about 24 in. tall and have attractive lavender blooms. Days to green shell maturity is about 62. A good yielder. Disease resistant.
