An improved pinkeye purple hull type pea was developed at the University of Georgia, Agricultural Experiment Station in 1975. Excellent fresh or dried. At the green shell stage, pods are purple and average 6 1/4 to 7 in. long with peas that are green with a light red eye. Dry peas are both smooth and wrinkled with a dark red/maroon eye. Upright, compact plants grow to about 24 in. tall and have attractive lavender blooms. Days to green shell maturity is about 62. A good yielder, disease resistant.
