1957 AAS Winner. The #1 beet grown commercially in the U.S. That's because this variety holds its shape better than any other when crowded. You get nice round beets even if you don't thin exactly as you should. Beautiful roots are uniformly smooth, round, and one of the deepest reddish-purple colors you've ever seen. Won an All-American award in 1957 when it was introduced, and it's still just as popular. Very tender and sweet, excellent fresh, canned, or pickled.
