This old-time favorite won an All-America Selections award in 1957 when it was first introduced and is still just as popular today. One of the main reasons is because this variety holds its shape better than any other when overcrowded. You get nice round beets even if you don't thin exactly like you should. Beautiful roots are uniform, smooth, round and one of the deepest reddish-purple colors you've ever seen. Very tender and sweet, excellent fresh, canned or pickled. 54 days.
