Southwestern/Western U.S. heirloom indigenous bean. Stories say seeds were found sealed inside a clay pot in a cave in NM and that carbon dating showed them to be 1,500 years old. Attractive beans are white and red mottled, and the size and shape of a large kidney bean. Green pods can be used fresh when small although it's primarily used as a dry bean. Plants have a pole habit, climbing up to 10 ft. 60 days.
